| India’s great art stars ‘(Sitaaray)’ will take this theme forward and play around with the synergy and interconnectivity between painting and cinema which are different forms of creativity in visual arts. |
| During their eight-day residency in London, the artists who are amongst India’s greatest art luminaries, visited leading British arts institutions, interacted with their collectors and counterparts, meditated, drew, sketched, painted and wrote. |
| The preview accompanying this camp comprised of a piece from each of the visiting international artists and combined the culture and history of India past and present, into a valid complement to the British art scene. |
| The work represented a rich diversity of contemporary Indian art practice that derives its inspiration from the classical and folk traditions of India. “There is a remarkable and variable play of texture and technique, in the artistic expressions, some of which are narrative and others that are conceptual, landscape or abstract that could be anything from pleasing to provocative, serious to profane, global to local” in the words of the curator. |
