Sitaaray Celebrating 75 years of Hindi Cinema at Venice
Up
'SITAARAY - Celebrating 75 years of Hindi Cinema' premiered at Venice under the aegis of the Concilio Europeo dell’Arte from Aug 30th – sept 20th, to coincide with the International Film Festival at Venice.
Titled ‘Bollywood in Venice’-75 anni di cinema indiano.
From producing India's first full-length sound film 'Alam Ara' (1931) - to becoming one of the world's largest producers of films, winning and wowing audiences the world over- the Hindi Film Industry has indeed come a long way. This exhibition is a tribute saluting all the producers, directors, script writers, music composers, lyricists, editors and actors all equally important stars (Sitaaray) - who have, through their vision and talent, made India's film industry the global phenomenon that it is today.
An informative and narrative celebration of 75 years of Hindi cinema, it chronicles the evolution of Hindi Cinema through the last 75 years and explores some of the landmark moments of film history.
It uses a mix of informative panels, old film posters and hand-made billboard paintings by traditional hoarding artists in an engaging style. Of particular interest are the decade-wise panels and those dedicated to landmark films.
